How to calculate elapsed time
Choose a start time and end time to see the difference in hours and minutes. The result is useful for reviewing a work block, tracking a call, or estimating how long a task took.
When the end time is earlier than the start time, this calculator treats it as an overnight interval ending the next day. Identical start and end times are treated as zero elapsed minutes.
Can it calculate a shift that ends after midnight?
Yes. Set the start time before midnight and the end time after midnight. The calculator rolls the end time into the next day.
Does the result subtract breaks?
No. It reports total elapsed time. Subtract unpaid breaks separately if you need net working time.
